Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to be accurate. You may find that this market’s probabilities diverge from sportsbook odds, particularly as new information emerges or public opinion shifts. Generally, prediction markets are considered highly efficient forecasting tools, sometimes even more accurate than traditional polls or expert analyses when predicting the outcome of events like the Brewers-Dodgers game.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more people buy contracts for a particular outcome, its price increases, and its implied probability rises. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market constantly adapts to new information and reflects the latest collective intelligence of the traders participating in this market for the Brewers-Dodgers game.
