In the upcoming EFL Championship game between Middlesbrough FC and Cardiff City FC, scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 7:30 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Middlesbrough FC vs. Cardiff City FC match originally scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 7:30 AM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market's prices are driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If there's a significant discrepancy, it may indicate that the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced a particular result. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither guarantees the actual event outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that score occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective intelligence. The higher the demand for a particular outcome, the higher its share price will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market stays responsive to new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result of the Middlesbrough vs. Cardiff match, specifically the exact scoreline, will be used to determine the winning shares. It’s important to note that the resolution relies on official sources and publicly available data to ensure an accurate and unbiased outcome for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced by either Middlesbrough or Cardiff could shift expectations. Weather conditions on match day, or even pre-match analysis from football experts, might also impact trading activity. Unexpected news related to team morale or managerial decisions could also be catalysts for price movement in this market.
