This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in a specific quarter of a college football game between Middle Tennessee and Kansas. It provides a way to speculate on short-term performance during the contest. The outcome depends solely on the third quarter's scoring, independent of the overall game result.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the third quarter of the Middle Tennessee vs Kansas college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. If Kansas scores more points in that quarter, the market resolves to Yes for Kansas. If Middle Tennessee scores more points, the market resolves to Yes for Middle Tennessee. If both teams score the same number of points, the market resolves to Yes for the Tie outcome. For any game postponements, if play begins within 48 hours of the original start time, the market remains active and resolves based on the official third-quarter result. If the game does not start within this 48-hour window, the market resolves to a fair price. Points from other quarters do not affect the outcome.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook is mispricing a team’s chances, you might see discrepancies between the two. However, as game time approaches, these odds often converge as more information becomes available and more people trade.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each outcome – Middle Tennessee winning the 3rd quarter or Kansas winning the 3rd quarter. The price of each contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust, providing a real-time estimate of expectations. The current price is determined solely by supply and demand within the Kalshi market.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official result of which team won the 3rd quarter of the Middle Tennessee vs Kansas game will determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics and will be publicly available after the game concludes. Traders holding the winning contract will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team strategy, or even weather conditions could shift expectations and cause prices to move. Unexpected announcements about starting lineups or key player availability would likely have a significant impact. Furthermore, as the game progresses and early results become available, the market will react quickly to new information, potentially leading to substantial price fluctuations. Public sentiment and analysis from sports commentators could also play a role.
