This market focuses on predicting which team will score more points in a specific quarter of a college football game between Middle Tennessee and Kansas. It highlights the competitive dynamics of the game by zooming in on a single quarter's performance rather than the overall result.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points during the second quarter of the Middle Tennessee vs Kansas college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. If Kansas scores more points in that quarter, the market resolves to Yes for Kansas. If Middle Tennessee scores more points, the market resolves to Yes for Middle Tennessee. If both teams score an equal number of points, the market resolves to Yes for the Tie outcome. Postponements that commence within 48 hours of the original start time do not affect resolution, which will instead be based on the official result. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Points scored outside the second quarter are irrelevant to this market's resolution.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before significant events or new information emerges. While sportsbooks may initially be influenced by public perception, this market can adjust more rapidly to new data and insights, potentially leading to more accurate predictions as the event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of victory. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform uses a market maker system to ensure there are always bids and asks available, facilitating trading and price discovery. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to efficiently incorporate new information and adjust probabilities in real-time.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the second quarter of the Middle Tennessee vs Kansas game will be declared the winner of this market. The result will be determined by the official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data provider. Traders will be able to view the final outcome and settlement details on Kalshi following the conclusion of the game and verification of the results.
