These markets evaluate how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Michigan and Minnesota. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Michigan vs Minnesota college football game scheduled for Oct 3, 2026. A 'Yes' outcome occurs when the combined score exceeds the specified threshold for each market. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the 4th quarter count, and Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously buying and selling contracts on Kalshi and at a sportsbook. However, direct comparisons can be difficult due to differing market structures and the information each incorporates.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, where traders submit bids and asks for contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring – for example, a price of 60 means a 60% probability. Traders are constantly adjusting their prices based on new information and their own analysis. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth, displayed on the dashboard, shows the volume of contracts available at different price points, giving an indication of the strength of conviction behind each price.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Michigan vs Minnesota game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official total points scored in the 4th quarter of the game, as recorded by official game statistics. The market will then pay out to contract holders based on whether the total points exceeded or fell short of 7.5, as determined by the official game results.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either the Michigan or Minnesota teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect scoring, could also move the market. Furthermore, as the game progresses and more information becomes available – such as early scoring trends – the price will adjust to reflect the evolving probabilities. Unexpected in-game events, like turnovers or significant plays, could also cause rapid shifts in the market.
