These markets evaluate various scoring thresholds for the first half of an upcoming college football game. Each threshold represents a different level of scoring performance, allowing participants to assess the likelihood of the combined points exceeding specific values.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the first half of the Michigan vs Minnesota college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. For any market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., Over 2.5 points, Over 6.5 points, etc.), it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored in the first half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market’s price is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe the sportsbook’s line is inaccurate, the price on Kalshi will move accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly before significant events or when public opinion strongly favors one outcome, offering potential value for informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the total points scored in the first half will be over or under a certain number. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived likelihood. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand, meaning that as more people buy contracts predicting a certain outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This creates a real-time assessment of the event’s potential.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the total points scored in the first half of the Michigan versus Minnesota football game will be used to determine if the market resolves in favor of the 'yes' or 'no' outcome. The official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data source, will serve as the basis for verification. Traders will be able to see the final result and any associated payouts following the completion of the game and official score confirmation.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Michigan or Minnesota would likely have a significant impact, as this could affect the teams’ scoring potential. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could move the market. Finally, large volume trades on Kalshi themselves can create momentum and influence the price, even without external news events.
