These markets focus on predicting the outcome of a college football game between Michigan State and Wisconsin, specifically analyzing how the teams perform in the final quarter of play. The markets evaluate different point spreads to determine which team dominates the last quarter.
The markets resolve based on the point differential between Michigan State and Wisconsin exclusively during the 4th quarter of the game scheduled for October 3, 2026, excluding any overtime periods. Each market has a specific threshold for the winning margin: if Wisconsin wins by more than 10.5, 7.5, 6.5, 3.5, or 2.5 points in the 4th quarter, the corresponding market resolves to Yes; similarly, if Michigan State wins by more than 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points in the 4th quarter, the respective market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the 4th quarter count toward these outcomes.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for a profit margin, while this market is driven by individuals trading on their own predictions. Often, you’ll find that this market incorporates information and perspectives not fully captured by sportsbooks, potentially leading to different probabilities assigned to various outcomes. However, as game day approaches, these odds tend to converge as more information becomes available.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that spread occurring in the fourth quarter of the game. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to set accurate prices, as they profit from correctly predicting the outcome. The more traders participate, the more efficient and accurate the pricing becomes, offering a real-time assessment of the game’s potential trajectory.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the fourth quarter of the Michigan State vs Wisconsin game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the governing body of college football, ensuring an objective and transparent determination of the winning contracts. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies for future events.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Michigan State or Wisconsin would likely cause price fluctuations. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions, could also influence trading activity. Furthermore, late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could shift market sentiment. Finally, as the game approaches, any public analysis or expert predictions could sway traders’ opinions and drive price movements in this market.
