This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in the final quarter of a college football game between Miami (FL) and North Carolina. It tracks the performance of each team specifically in the last 15 minutes of regulation time, excluding any overtime periods. The outcome depends solely on who leads the scoring in that designated timeframe.
The market resolves based on which team scores the most points during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Miami (FL) vs North Carolina college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. If North Carolina scores more points in the 4th quarter, that market resolves to Yes. If Miami (FL) scores more points in the 4th quarter, its corresponding market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points in the 4th quarter, the Tie market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the 4th quarter of regulation play are considered; overtime points are excluded. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original scheduled time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market represents the aggregated beliefs of individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, the odds here will adjust accordingly. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an event occurring, and discrepancies can arise due to differing information or analytical approaches. Examining both can provide a more comprehensive view.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market's current expectation of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective belief. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe North Carolina will win the 4th quarter, the higher the price of contracts representing that outcome will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market is constantly updated with the latest information and sentiment.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the team leading at the end of the 4th quarter will be declared the winner. The official game results, as reported by a recognized sports data source, will be used to determine the winning outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the 4th quarter winner will receive a payout based on the closing price of their contracts at the time of resolution. This ensures a transparent and verifiable process for determining the market's outcome.
Several factors could influence the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance from either team during the earlier quarters of the game will also likely cause significant movement. Furthermore, large volume trades from informed traders could indicate a shift in expectations. Public opinion, as reflected in polls or expert analyses, can also play a role, though this market is driven by individual trading decisions rather than external forecasts. Monitoring these signals can help you understand potential price fluctuations.
