This market determines which team will score more points in the third quarter of the college football game between Miami (FL) and North Carolina. It focuses solely on the performance during that specific quarter, not the overall game result. The outcome depends entirely on which team has the higher point total in the third quarter.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points during the third quarter of the Miami (FL) vs North Carolina college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. If North Carolina scores more points in that quarter, the market resolves to Yes for the North Carolina outcome. For all outcomes, only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on power rankings and expert analysis, but may adjust less quickly to new information or changing sentiment. This market, like others on Kalshi, allows traders to incorporate a wider range of factors, potentially leading to odds that diverge from those offered by sportsbooks. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast outcomes, especially when significant public information becomes available.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and the implied probability of that team winning the 3rd quarter rises. Conversely, selling contracts lowers the price and the implied probability. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the winner of the 3rd quarter in the Miami vs North Carolina game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official game statistics, and the team leading at the end of the 3rd quarter will be declared the winner for the purposes of this market. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or settle their losing positions based on the final result.
Several factors could influence the trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team strategy, or even weather conditions could impact the perceived probabilities. Significant shifts in public sentiment, reflected in polls or expert analysis, can also drive trading volume and price movements. Unexpected performance during the early parts of the game, or even pre-game reports about team morale, could all contribute to changes in this market before it resolves.
