Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance risk and profit, while prediction markets allow anyone to express their beliefs and trade on them. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook's initial assessment. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporate information and insights faster than sportsbooks, particularly regarding team news or subtle shifts in form.
