Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by individuals’ beliefs about the most likely outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly in events where public perception deviates from expert analysis. Comparing the implied probabilities from both sources can reveal where the crowd thinks sportsbooks might be mispricing the event, or vice versa.
