Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. This is because prediction markets allow anyone to participate and express their beliefs, potentially incorporating information not yet reflected in sportsbook lines. While sportsbooks set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, access to information, or simply variations in modeling approaches. It’s common to see prediction market probabilities diverge from sportsbook odds, particularly in events with high uncertainty.
