The Johan Cruyff Trophy honors the best coach in Dutch football for a given season. Each market tracks a specific coach's potential victory, reflecting their performance and influence over the team's success throughout the year.
Each market resolves to Yes if the named coach is announced as the 2026 Men's Coach of the Year (Johan Cruyff Trophy) for the 2025-26 season. If multiple recipients are named and no separate Tie/Co-Winners market exists, Yes contracts for each recipient resolve to $1 divided by the number of tied recipients, with all other participant markets resolving to No. If the award is not given, all participant markets resolve to No. These rules apply uniformly across all participant markets for this event.
Comparing prediction market odds to analyst forecasts reveals how collective intelligence differs from expert opinion. Often, this market reflects a broader range of information and perspectives than traditional forecasts, potentially incorporating factors analysts may overlook. If analysts widely favor a particular candidate, but the market odds are more dispersed, it suggests traders believe there's a higher degree of uncertainty or that other contenders have a stronger chance. Discrepancies can arise from differing methodologies, biases, or access to unique data, offering a valuable contrast in perspectives on the eventual outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders set the odds by placing buy and sell orders for contracts on each potential winner. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for real-time assessment of probabilities, driven by the collective wisdom of the crowd. The current market reflects the aggregated expectations of all traders.
This market resolves around Oct 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner of the Men's Johan Cruyff Trophy, as officially announced by the governing body, will determine the settlement of this market. The resolution process relies on publicly available information to ensure a transparent and accurate outcome. Traders will be able to see the final result and how their contracts are settled once the official announcement is made. This ensures a clear and objective determination of the market's outcome.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market. Unexpected injuries to key players, changes in team form, or surprising results in qualifying matches are all potential catalysts. Major news regarding player transfers or coaching changes could also influence trading activity. Public opinion shifts, reflected in media coverage and fan sentiment, might also play a role, though to a lesser extent. Any information that alters the perceived probability of a particular player winning the trophy has the potential to drive price fluctuations in this market, leading to adjustments in the odds.
