Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders' beliefs about the outcome. Early on, sportsbook odds may heavily influence trading in this market, but as more information becomes available and more traders participate, the prediction market odds can diverge, potentially offering a more accurate forecast. It's common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds, especially closer to the event date.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the aggregated predictions of all participants, providing a real-time assessment of the event's potential results.
This market resolves around Oct 14, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
