This market tracks which team will lead at the end of the first half in an upcoming college football game. It reflects the competitive performance of each team in the initial 30 minutes of play, offering insight into early-game momentum without considering the full-game outcome.
The market resolves based on the first half result of the McNeese vs Incarnate Word college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If either team leads at the end of the first half, the respective market for that team resolves to Yes. If the teams are tied at the end of the first half, the Tie market resolves to Yes. For postponements, if the game starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the actual first half result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Only points scored during the official first half count toward resolution.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to express their own independent beliefs. If a significant number of people believe one team is more likely to win the first half than sportsbooks suggest, the price for that outcome will decrease, indicating a higher implied probability. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the teams’ strengths.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, McNeese winning the first half or Incarnate Word winning the first half. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand. As more people buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price reflects the market’s collective assessment of each team’s probability of winning the first half, and it’s constantly updated as new information becomes available.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, once the official result of the first half of the McNeese vs Incarnate Word football game is available. The outcome will be determined by which team is leading at halftime, as verified against credible public reporting from official sports sources. The market will settle to 100 for the winning team and 0 for the losing team. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout of 100 minus the price they paid, while those holding contracts for the losing team will lose their investment.
Several factors could influence the price of this market leading up to game time. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either McNeese or Incarnate Word would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also shift the odds. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategy or coaching decisions could influence trader sentiment. Even public perception, reflected in polls or expert analysis, can contribute to price movements in this market.
