Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines with a profit margin built in, and may be influenced by public betting patterns. This market, however, reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. While sportsbooks may initially favor one competitor, the prediction market can adjust rapidly as new information becomes available and traders refine their assessments. Discrepancies between the two can present opportunities for informed traders.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price adjusts dynamically, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The market price is determined solely by supply and demand for shares in this market, and is not influenced by external factors or opinions.

This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Matviichuk vs. Sushko match, as reported by the governing sports body. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine the winning outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the winner will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution, while those who bet on the losing outcome will forfeit their shares.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 13, 2026. Any news regarding the physical condition of either Matviichuk or Sushko, such as injuries or illness, would likely have a significant impact. Updates on their recent performance, training regimens, or strategic adjustments could also shift expectations. Furthermore, broader factors like weather conditions (if the match is outdoors) or changes in coaching strategies could introduce volatility. Unexpected announcements or developments related to the match could all contribute to price movements in this market.
