This event tracks various thresholds of points scored in the final quarter of a college football matchup, allowing participants to assess the likelihood of different scoring levels in the last period of play.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Maryland vs Ohio St. college football game scheduled for Oct 10, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined score exceeds the stated threshold, that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the 4th quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying information sources and incentives. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven by individuals trading on their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Comparing the two can offer a broader perspective on the likely outcome of the Maryland vs Ohio State game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating greater confidence. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand; if more people believe a certain outcome is likely, they’ll bid up the price of contracts representing that outcome, and vice versa. This creates a real-time assessment of expectations for the total points scored in the fourth quarter.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the fourth quarter of the Maryland vs Ohio State game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The total points scored will be sourced from official game statistics and confirmed by reliable sports data providers. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result of this market.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Key injuries to star players on either the Maryland or Ohio State team would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift expectations. Late-breaking news regarding team strategies or coaching decisions might also play a role. Even significant public betting patterns in traditional sportsbooks could influence trader behavior on Kalshi and move this market.
