This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes during an upcoming college football game. The outcomes depend on whether specific teams reach certain thresholds of receiving touchdowns, reflecting offensive performance through the air.
All markets resolve based on the official number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team during the Maryland vs Nebraska college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026, including any overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is counted only when a player catches a forward pass and scores, with one exception: if a receiving player recovers their own fumble and scores, it still counts. Touchdowns scored by other players after recovering a fumble by the original receiver do not count. Successful two-point conversions, whether in regulation or overtime, are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house bias or initial line setting. Sportsbooks may also adjust their odds more slowly in response to new information than this market, where prices can change rapidly based on real-time trading activity. While sportsbooks focus on setting lines to balance action, this market allows traders to express their own probabilities, potentially leading to different assessments of the likelihood of touchdowns being scored in the Maryland vs Nebraska game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, a team scoring a touchdown. As more people buy contracts predicting touchdowns, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined entirely by supply and demand; there are no pre-defined odds set by a bookmaker. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for a fluid and responsive assessment of the potential for touchdowns in the upcoming game.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on whether any team successfully scores a touchdown during the Maryland vs Nebraska game. Official game statistics and play-by-play data will be used to determine if touchdowns were scored by either team. The market will then settle to 100 if at least one touchdown is scored, or 0 if no touchdowns are scored throughout the duration of the game. The final price will reflect the collective prediction of traders.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. News regarding key player injuries on either the Maryland or Nebraska teams could significantly impact expectations about scoring potential. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, might also affect the likelihood of touchdowns being scored. Game-day developments, like early scoring drives or defensive stops, could cause rapid price fluctuations as traders react to the unfolding events. Any significant information related to team performance or game conditions has the potential to move this market.
