Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome. It's common to see discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly deviates from the sportsbook's initial assessment. Comparing the two can be a useful exercise for informed decision-making, though it’s important to remember they represent different approaches to forecasting.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is determined solely by supply and demand, and there are no external factors influencing the valuation beyond trader activity. This creates a dynamic and responsive pricing system.

This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Martyniuk vs. Troian match as reported by recognized sports authorities.
