Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines, which are typically set by experts. Sportsbooks may initially emphasize public perception or biases, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. Over time, as more information becomes available and trading volume increases, the odds in this market can converge with or diverge from sportsbook odds, depending on whether traders identify mispricings. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before the event begins, as traders incorporate unique insights.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of a 'yes' outcome. The price of a contract directly reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event's likelihood. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Price movements are driven by new information, sentiment shifts, and trading strategies employed by participants, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the potential first-half winner.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the first half of the Marist vs San Diego game will determine the winning outcome for this market. Resolution will be based on official game statistics and results, ensuring a transparent and verifiable process. Traders should monitor official sources for the final first-half score to understand the resolution of this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market leading up to resolution. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or changes to starting lineups for either Marist or San Diego would likely cause significant movement. Unexpected weather conditions or even pre-game analysis from respected sports commentators could also shift trader sentiment. Furthermore, any substantial trading activity – a large buy or sell order – could trigger price fluctuations as others react to the perceived signal. Monitoring these factors will be key to understanding potential shifts in this market.
