Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a more accurate aggregate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds. This is because prediction markets incentivize participants to reveal their true beliefs, leading to a 'wisdom of the crowd' effect. While sportsbooks may incorporate biases or seek to profit from public perception, this market allows traders to directly express their probabilities. However, sportsbook odds can still be a useful point of comparison, particularly for identifying potential value discrepancies. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are formed through different mechanisms.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the aggregated sentiment of all traders on the platform, and changes based on supply and demand for shares in each possible outcome. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information.

This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scores the first goal in the Manchester United WFC vs. Liverpool LFC match. The outcome will be based on official match data and verified sources. This ensures a transparent and objective resolution process. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result and their positions in this market.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player form, or tactical adjustments could shift expectations. Unexpected weather conditions or referee announcements might also play a role. Furthermore, pre-match analysis from sports commentators and analysts, and even social media sentiment, can all impact trading activity. A significant upset in a related match or a change in team management could also move this market. Monitoring these signals can help you identify potential trading opportunities.
