In the upcoming match between Manchester United FC and Aston Villa FC, scheduled for November 8, 2026 at 11:30 AM ET: This market will resolve to "Manchester United FC" if Manchester United FC are the first to score in the second half (second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time). This market will resolve to "Aston Villa FC" if Aston Villa FC are the first to score in the second half (second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time). If neither team scores in the second half (second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time), this market will resolve to "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to goals scored within the second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time. First-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor names, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences in a team's or player's name will not affect resolution, provided the intended team or player can be clearly and uniquely identified as a participant in the listed fixture or competition. If a listed name has no reasonable connection to any participant, or could reasonably refer to more than one participant such that the intended team or player cannot be determined, this market will resolve as it would if the listed fixture had been canceled entirely; a listed participant who cannot be identified does not count as inactive or absent. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match information from Premier League (https://www.premierleague.com/). If the governing body or event organizers have not published final statistics within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market allows anyone to express their view, potentially leading to a more accurate assessment of probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of team form and potential game scenarios. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than sportsbooks, especially close to the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe Manchester United FC will score first in the second half, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb. Conversely, increased trading activity favoring Aston Villa FC will push their share price upward. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the traders.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on which team – Manchester United FC or Aston Villa FC – scores the first goal during the second half of the match. The result will be determined by official match data and reported by reliable sports news sources. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure accuracy and finalize the market settlement.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Manchester United FC or Aston Villa FC would likely cause shifts in the odds. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also impact trader sentiment. Even the weather forecast, particularly if conditions are expected to be unfavorable, might play a role. Additionally, any significant news related to team morale or recent performance could move the market as traders adjust their predictions.
