In the upcoming match between Manchester United FC and Aston Villa FC, scheduled for November 8, 2026 at 11:30 AM ET: This market will resolve to "Manchester United FC" if Manchester United FC are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). This market will resolve to "Aston Villa FC" if Aston Villa FC are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). If neither team scores in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time), this market will resolve to "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time. Second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor names, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences in a team's or player's name will not affect resolution, provided the intended team or player can be clearly and uniquely identified as a participant in the listed fixture or competition. If a listed name has no reasonable connection to any participant, or could reasonably refer to more than one participant such that the intended team or player cannot be determined, this market will resolve as it would if the listed fixture had been canceled entirely; a listed participant who cannot be identified does not count as inactive or absent. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match information from Premier League (https://www.premierleague.com/). If the governing body or event organizers have not published final statistics within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective that differs from traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like public betting biases or promotional offers, while this market relies on individuals directly putting their capital behind their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges. If you believe the market is mispricing the probability of a first-half goal, you can potentially find value by trading on Polymarket and exploiting the difference between the prediction market and sportsbook lines.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where participants buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in, say, Manchester United to score first, the price of those shares increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective intelligence of all traders participating, and the current top outcome, according to Polymarket, has a chance percentage of 48.5%.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team – Manchester United or Aston Villa – scores the first goal during the first half of the match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. The market will then settle, and traders will receive payouts based on their holdings in the winning outcome.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Manchester United or Aston Villa would likely cause significant shifts. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also impact the perceived probabilities. Even weather conditions on match day could play a role, influencing the style of play and goal-scoring potential. Any unexpected developments leading up to kickoff have the potential to move this market considerably.
