Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction markets like Limitless often reflect the collective wisdom of informed bettors, potentially offering a more accurate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of the outcome. However, sportsbook odds are readily available and provide a useful benchmark. Discrepancies between the two can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders capitalize on differing valuations of the same event. It’s important to compare both to form a well-rounded view.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing the outcome. The price of these contracts directly reflects the market’s implied probability of Manchester City winning by two or more goals. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price fluctuates, providing a dynamic assessment of the event’s likelihood. The current price indicates what percentage of traders believe the outcome will occur, and this is constantly updated based on supply and demand for the contracts.

This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Manchester City vs Liverpool match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on whether Manchester City wins the match by a margin of two or more goals. The official result, as reported by recognized sports news sources, will determine the winning outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the result will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution, while those who predicted incorrectly will forfeit their stake.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Manchester City or Liverpool would be a major catalyst. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could all influence trader sentiment. Unexpected results in other matches that affect team motivation or league standings could also play a role. Furthermore, significant shifts in public opinion, reflected in analyst predictions or media coverage, may also contribute to price movements in this market.
