Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the wisdom of the crowd, aims to reflect the true probability of an outcome, though biases can still exist. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market evolves as more people trade, potentially leading to more accurate predictions. It's important to compare both to form a well-rounded view of the likely result.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand for shares on Polymarket.
This market resolves around Oct 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
