Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a 'wisdom of the crowd' effect, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin, while this market relies on traders directly expressing their beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to remember that prediction markets and sportsbooks have different user bases and information sources, which can lead to variations.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price reflects the collective judgment of all participants, and changes dynamically based on new information and trading activity. This creates a real-time assessment of the event’s potential results.
This market resolves around Oct 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Marina Bassols Ribera versus Ida Wobker match, as reported by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the result against trusted sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final share price at the time of resolution.
