Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on internal models and aim to balance their risk, while this market relies on the collective intelligence of traders. If a significant number of people believe an outcome is more likely than a sportsbook suggests, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in opinion. It’s often insightful to compare the two to gauge where the market finds value.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome of the Mallorca doubles match. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of the corresponding contract will rise, and vice-versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds are constantly updated based on the latest information and sentiment.
