Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while prediction markets aim to represent the true probability of an event occurring, as assessed by traders. Therefore, you may find discrepancies between the odds offered on Polymarket and those at sportsbooks. These differences can arise from varying levels of expertise, access to information, and risk appetite among market participants versus sportsbook operators. It’s useful to compare both to gain a broader perspective.
