Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook lines. This is because prediction markets allow anyone to participate and express their beliefs, while sportsbooks are set by a smaller number of experts. However, sportsbook odds can sometimes move faster in response to breaking news or large bets. It’s common to see initial discrepancies between the two, with this market potentially offering value if you believe the crowd’s assessment differs from that of the sportsbooks. Analyzing both can be a useful strategy.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and its implied probability rises. Conversely, selling shares drives the price down. This dynamic process ensures that the market price reflects the collective intelligence of all participants. The current price reflects what traders are willing to pay for a share representing the outcome.

This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on the official result of the Maia fight between Benjamin Hassan and Ryan Nijboer, as declared by the relevant sporting authorities. The outcome will be determined by which fighter is declared the winner of the match. The platform will verify the result against established sources to ensure accuracy and finalize the market settlement. Any disputes will be handled according to the platform’s guidelines.
