Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the collective wisdom of PredictionHero users. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply a wider range of participants. If sportsbooks heavily favor one competitor, this market might show a more nuanced view, especially if there's uncertainty or a perceived chance of an upset. Comparing the two can reveal valuable insights into public perception and potential value.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular result, the price increases, and vice versa.
