Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on their own analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides. This market, however, allows individuals to express their beliefs, and the resulting odds can shift as new information emerges or opinions change. While sportsbooks may adjust their lines based on betting patterns, prediction markets directly incorporate the collective judgment of participants. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when public sentiment strongly favors one outcome.
