Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and expertise than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set lines to balance betting action and incorporate a margin for profit, while this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. If sportsbook odds show a clear favorite, it will be interesting to see if this market agrees, or if traders believe there's a different outcome more likely. Discrepancies can arise from differing opinions on candidate momentum, polling accuracy, or unforeseen events impacting the election.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular candidate, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence in their chances. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective assessment of all traders participating in this market, and can shift rapidly based on new information or changing sentiment.

This market resolves around Nov 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The official results of the M25 Tamworth election, as declared by the relevant electoral authorities, will determine the winning candidate. The market will settle to 100% in favor of the candidate who receives the most votes, as reported by these official sources. Traders should monitor news coverage and official announcements as the election date approaches to stay informed about the potential resolution timeline.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Major news events, such as candidate debates, policy announcements, or unexpected endorsements, could shift voter sentiment and influence trading activity.
