Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, aiming to profit regardless of the outcome, while prediction markets allow traders to directly express their beliefs. As a result, this market’s probabilities can sometimes diverge from sportsbook lines, particularly when there’s strong public sentiment or access to specialized information. Examining both sources provides a more comprehensive view of potential outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is entirely driven by supply and demand, meaning it's a direct representation of the collective wisdom of the traders participating. This creates a dynamic pricing system that adapts to new information and changing perspectives.
