Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on traders directly expressing their beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. As more information becomes available and public sentiment evolves, the odds on Polymarket may converge or diverge from those found at traditional sportsbooks. It's common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks, especially when accounting for the vigorish (the cut taken by the sportsbook).
