Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin regardless of the outcome. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, theoretically offering a more accurate assessment of probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, risk appetites, and the influence of public opinion. It's common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges.
