Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks typically set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective intelligence of traders. If a significant difference exists between prediction market probabilities and those implied by sportsbooks, it could indicate disagreement about the true likelihood of an outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities based on different methodologies and information sources, and discrepancies can occur due to varying expertise and biases.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure drives the price down. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective assessment of the event’s likelihood.

This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Daryabeigi vs Lemire match. The platform will rely on publicly available and widely accepted sources to determine the winner. This ensures a transparent and objective resolution process, reflecting the actual outcome of the sporting event. Traders should monitor external sources for updates as the resolution date approaches.

Several signals could influence trading activity and move this market before resolution. Any news regarding the players' form, potential injuries, or changes in coaching strategy could significantly impact trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about match conditions or venue changes could also play a role. Furthermore, major shifts in public opinion, driven by expert analysis or media coverage, can influence the collective assessment of the likely outcome. Monitoring these factors will be crucial for understanding potential price movements in this market.
