Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals freely trading based on their own information and analysis. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket, potentially causing the prediction market odds to diverge from those offered by sportsbooks.
