Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own analysis and aim to balance their book, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can take the opposite position, driving the prediction market odds in a different direction. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately reflect true probabilities as the event approaches, especially when compared to initial public opinion or poll-based forecasts.
