Prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house bias or public perception. Sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, but prediction markets allow a broader range of participants to weigh in, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities as the event approaches. It’s common to see differences emerge, particularly if there’s strong disagreement among market participants or if new information becomes available that isn’t fully incorporated into sportsbook lines. This market offers a unique perspective on the likely outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a prediction probability. Higher demand for a particular outcome will drive its price up, indicating a greater perceived chance of it occurring. Conversely, increased selling pressure will lower the price, suggesting a lower probability. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd.
This market resolves around Oct 14, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
