Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks may set initial lines based on expert analysis and team statistics, this market incorporates a broader range of information and opinions from participants actively trading on Polymarket. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders attempt to profit from mispricings between the two types of markets. However, direct comparisons are difficult without specific sportsbook odds for this event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price of each share adjusts, reflecting the collective assessment of the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by supply and demand; if more people believe Arjun Mehrotra will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the odds closely reflect the current expectations of the crowd regarding the debate's outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the publicly available results of the M25 Darwin debate, specifically which participant is determined to have won by the official judges. The platform will rely on widely accepted sources to verify the winner and settle the market accordingly. Traders should monitor news sources and official announcements related to the debate to stay informed about the resolution process and timeline.
