Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome, leading to potentially more efficient pricing. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of both markets as new information becomes available. It is common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks in response to breaking news.
