Prediction market odds often reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set odds to maximize profit, incorporating a margin for themselves, while this market relies on the wisdom of the crowd. This can lead to discrepancies, as prediction markets may more accurately reflect the true probability of an event occurring, especially when there’s strong public interest or specialized knowledge involved. However, it's not uncommon to see convergence between the two as the event approaches, with both adjusting to new information and betting activity.
