Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market aggregates the beliefs of a diverse group of traders. Often, prediction markets can be more accurate forecasts, especially when information isn't widely available or is subject to bias. However, sportsbook odds can still provide a useful benchmark for comparison, revealing where public perception differs from the crowd's collective judgment expressed in this market. It’s a good practice to consider both when evaluating potential outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the evolving consensus. The market’s efficiency stems from the incentive structure, encouraging traders to express their true beliefs and capitalize on mispricings.

This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the M15 Yanagawa City match between TAKUMI KATSUDA and Natsuki Yamamoto.
