Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. If prediction market odds diverge significantly from sportsbook odds, it could indicate that the crowd believes the sportsbook is mispricing the event. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither is guaranteed to be correct. Examining both can provide a more comprehensive view of the potential outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome.
