Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, varying levels of expertise among participants, and the influence of public sentiment. If significant differences emerge, arbitrage opportunities may present themselves, as traders attempt to profit from the mispricing between the two types of markets. It’s worth comparing the implied probabilities to see where the crowd and the bookmakers disagree.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares, the price increases, indicating growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand; there are no external factors influencing the pricing process. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd.

This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the M15 Tanagura match between Soshi Sugawara and YUKI KARATSU. Any official announcements or results from the governing body will be used to determine the winner. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several signals could influence trading activity in this market. News regarding player injuries, changes in training regimens, or even weather conditions could all impact perceived probabilities. Unexpected upsets in other matches involving these players might also shift sentiment. Public statements from analysts or commentators offering their predictions could also play a role, as traders react to new information and adjust their positions accordingly. Any significant developments related to the players or the event itself have the potential to move this market considerably before Oct 25, 2026.
