Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs and adjust prices based on new information. If sportsbook odds strongly disagree with those found here, it may indicate a perceived mispricing or differing expectations about the event’s outcome. It’s important to consider both sources when forming your own assessment of the likely result.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. The market’s depth and volume indicate the level of confidence traders have in their predictions, and the current price provides a real-time estimate of the event’s likelihood.
