Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities, especially as new information becomes available. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to breaking news or shifts in public opinion than sportsbooks, potentially offering a more efficient price discovery process for this market.
