Sportsbooks typically set lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, aiming to balance risk and profit. This market, however, reflects the wisdom of the crowd, where individuals weigh various factors and express their beliefs through trades. Often, prediction markets can provide more accurate forecasts, especially when incorporating information not readily captured by traditional models, though discrepancies can occur based on public perception and differing risk appetites.
