Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the collective wisdom of informed traders, and often outperform traditional sportsbook odds in accuracy. However, it’s important to note that sportsbooks and Polymarket serve different purposes. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly bet against each other. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, risk tolerance, and market participation. Comparing the two can offer valuable insights, but they shouldn't be considered identical representations of probability.
