Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of bettors, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of trading activity. It’s common to see prediction market odds move independently of sportsbook odds as new information becomes available or as public sentiment shifts regarding the Han vs Janvier match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the market price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. The current price reflects the aggregated views of all traders on Polymarket regarding the likelihood of each fighter winning the match.
